Visual Arts Australia, VAAus

Visual Arts Australia, VAAus is an online curatorial platform supporting international and online engagement with Australian art and artists.  The platform was created as a portal to access information about contemporary Australian art, artists and art writers.   VAAus promotes dialogue around Australian art through reviews, highlighting exhibitions featuring artists from Australia and critical writings on Australian art.

To launch Visual Arts Australia, the platform is hosting  Acme's Time & Vision Online, showcasing a  20 year retrospective of Australian Artists who have gone through Acme's International Residency Programme in London.  The online launch will coincide with the Time & Vision Exhibition to be held at Bargehouse on October 20 - November 11 2012.  The Time & Vision Exhibition is managed by Lea O'Loughlin (Acme IRP, UK) and curated by Paul Bayley (UK); and highlights the talent, range and vitality of contemporary Australian visual artists and their contribution to contemporary visual culture in London.  Since 1987, 70 Australian artists have benefited from three-month long residencies in London and this milestone is being celebrated through the project Time & Vision, funded by the Australia Council for the arts and supported by the Australian High Commission in London.
